The owners of cow farms are dreaming as they become solvent by selling their sacrificial cows before eid-ul-adha in three upazilas of  the district. They urged the government to keep their watchful eyes so that the Indian cows do not enter into our country this time.

It was found moving the upazilas that the cow farmers were rearing Nepali, Australian, Fijian, Hariana races  for beef fattening. Some poor farmers also found raring one and two cows in their houses. Now it is the cherished time to sell the same.

Enamul Haque a large scale farmer of Gangni said that the people  both the urban and the  rural areas are raring cows giving attention like sons as the cows are the main cash items for them to live.  The cows grow up to the mark getting proper nursing along with healthy natural fodders. Cow trading plays a vital role in developing social economy of the district. He urged the government to maintain proper look after to ensure the fair price of their cows.

Dr. Zahangir Alam, District Livestock Officer said that nearly one lakh sacrificial animals are ready in the district. After meeting the local demand the cows are taking to different cattle markets in the country including the capital city. Some 29 thousands 344 cow farms and 37 thousand cows are raring in familial level for korbani in the district.
