Municipality dwellers staged demonstration

In demand of Meherpur municipality election local Awami League leaders  brought out agitation procession today (17.02.2016) in the town  chanting different slogans against the sitting Mayor.  

The demonstration rally was led by former AL MP freedom fighter Joynal Abedin and Sadar Upazila AL President Golam Rasul starting from Hotel bazaar intersection that paraded the main street of the town and ended in front of Municipality  office. 

After ending the procession the demonstrators could not entered into the pouro premises in the face of police obstacle but hold a wayside meeting. The speakers complaint that the sitting Mayor Motasimbillah Motu used to  stop   the pouro election before declaration the poll schedule    by filing case to the apex court in the name of  fixation of periphery of the pourosova.

They demanded immediate election of the pourosova otherwise they will declare strong program.
