Preparation meeting held to observe the BB's birth anniversary & national child day.

MEHERPUR, MAR 7: In order to observe the 97th birth anniversary of the Architect of Independence and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Child Day  on March 17 in the district  a preparation meeting was held today (Monday) in the conference room of the collectorate with Shafiqul Islam, Deputy Commissioner in the chair. The  district administration has chalked out elaborate programmes to observe  the day.

The programmes, include hoisting of the national flag  in all the government, the semi-government, the autonomous and the private buildings, pleasure processions and discussion meetings.

Discussion meetings on the life and deeds of Bangabandhu will be arranged in the district and upazila headquarters, schools, colleges, madrasas and special doa-mahfils and prayers will be offered at all religious institutions. Competitions on painting, essay writing, Hamd and Nath, poems will be held and discussions focusing Bangabandhu and true national history will be arranged.

The district and upazila units of AL and its associate organizations and Muktijoddha Sangshads have also chalked out elaborate programmes in observance of the day in the  district and upazila headquarters in a befitting manner, it has learnt,

In Meherpur district town, floral wreaths will be placed at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises after termination of the pleasure procession where hundreds  of followers from all sections of people will participate  in the programmes.  District Information Office will screen documentary films ‘Chironjib Bangabandhu’, ‘Swadhinota Amar Swadhinota’ and ‘Bangabandhu: Bangladesh ’ at Government Boys School premises. 

Similar programmes would be executed in sadar and Gangni upazila, according to meeting decision.
