Intl. Woman Day Observed

MEHERPUR, MAR 8: Meherpur district administration, District Woman Affairs office and Jatiya Mohila Sangstha jointly observed the International Woman Day-2016 today in a befitting manner. 

The theme of the day is “Odhikar Morjaday Nari Purush Somane Soman”.

On the occasion a discussion meeting was held at Shilpokola academy with Khairul Hasan, Additional Deputy Commissioner in the chair where Forhad Hossain, MP was present as chief guest. Ahmar Uzzaman, Additional Superintendent of Police, Azimuddin Sardar, Executive Engineer, Local Government Engineering Department and Shamim Ara Hira, President, Jatiya Mohila Sangstha were present as special guests. 

Welcomed by  A K M Shaiful Azam,  District Woman Affairs Officer the program was administered by Sultana of DWA office.

Among others, Rustam Ali, District Information Officer, BRAC District representatiSve Mosarraf Hossain, Sufia Jamila, Executive Director of Sotota Somity and Rajia, Executive Director, Punorva Nari Kollan Sangstha   addressed the meeting. 

The chief guest distributed  sewing machines among the five distressed women.  

To mark the day a colorful procession was brought out in the town and paraded the main street and terminated on Shilpokola premises that led by Forhad Hossain, MP.
