Police recovered a hanged body of a garments worker today from a mango grove closed to Kedargonj bazaar under Mujibnagar Upazila of Meherpur district.
The ill-fated was identified as Surekha Khatun, 36, daughter of Asan Ali of village Bhoberpara under Mujibnagar Upazila of Meherpur district. She was a garments factory worker in Dhaka.
According to locals and police sources said, people of the area found a hanged body in a mango garden nearby Kedargonj bazaar of Mujibnagar upazila today morning and informed the police. Police recovered the body and sent to morgue for autopsy. Primarily Police suspected that it was suicidal incident but mother of the victim claimed that her daughter was killed by her (victim) second husband.
However, Ahmar Uzzaman, Additional Police Super visited the spot and said there was no sign on the body of torture. After autopsy it could be ensured whether it was murder or suicide.
