Gangni Municipal Election : Candidates gear-up their campaign 

After getting vote symbol  the candidates of Gangni municipal election is scheduled to be held on 30 December have started vote campaigning  in full swing from morning to deep night braving the thick fog and pinching cold respectively. They are moving from door to door seeking vote by giving many development commitment as before. 

In Gangni municipal poll five mayoral, 28 councilor and ten reserved female councilor have taken part in vote race. 

Sitting Mayor Awami League leader  Ahmmed Ali (Boat) its rebel candidate Ashraful Islam Vendor ( Jug), BNP backed Ensarul Haque Ensu (Paddy Sheaf), Islami Andolon backed Hojjatul Islam (Hand fan), and Jatiya Party (Ershad) backed S M Golam Mortuza (Plough) are in vote race as mayoral candidates. It may be mentioned here that BNP backed rebel candidate Asaduzzaman Bablu withdrew his nomination paper according to advice of his central committee. 

The vote campaigning  of Awami League backed candidate and its rebel candidate and BNP backed candidate is visible that is why the voters were telling that Gangni municipal election battle will be held among these three mayoral candidates.

Mentionable, election code of conducts are being violated by almost all the mayoral and councilor candidates extensively. Some them were fined by the mobile court and  warned not to breach the code of conducts. 

The concerned authority hold a meeting two days back at Gangni upazila porishod auditorium regarding election code of conduct with the representatives of the candidates. 

Gangni Union Porishod turned as Gangni Municipality  at the end of 2001. Its voters number  are 16805 in which  male voters are 8193 and 8612 female. They will cast their vote through nine polling centers.
