National Social Service Day-2016 Observed

The National Social Service Day-2016 was observed here at Meherpur in a befitting manner  jointly organized by district administration and social service department with the help of district NGO association. To mark the day a rally brought out in the town that paraded from collectorate building compound to local shilpokola academy campus. It was led by Deputy Director, Local Government Division  and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Hemayet Hossain. 

The theme of the day is “Somaj Shebar Prochesta, Agiye Jabe Deshta”.

After ending the rally a discussion meeting on the occasion was held at Shilpokola Academy auditorium with Abu Bakar Siddique, Acting Deputy Director, District Social Service Office in the chair. 

Hemayet Hossain,  ADC attended the meeting as chief guest while Alhaj Ashkar Ali, Advisor, District Awami League and Reporter Rafiqul Alam were present as special guests. Shafia Sharmin a beneficiary of Social Service department among others addressed the meeting.

The meeting was followed by a lively cultural function performed by the inmates of Shishu Poribar.
