Pregnant Mother dead

 A mother including her child met tragic end on Saturday night at Gangni Health comples due to negligence of the doctors and nurses on duty, family members alleged. During the time victim’s relatives staged demonstration in front of the Gangni  health complex in Meherpur district  with dead body and demanded exemplary punishment to the delinquents. Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

The victim was identified as Munsura Khatun, wife of day laborer Mohibul Islam of village Terail under Gangni upazila of the district.

Mansura’s son in law Reja Ahmed said that she was taken to Gangni Health Complex in the morning on Saturday(12.9.15) with labor pain but all day long no doctor came forward to see her. At last in the early night she breathed her last including her child in the womb. 

After spreading the death news due to negligence of doctors, the relatives became agitated and staged demonstration in front of the health complex demanding punishment of the doctors and nurses. Police rushed to the health complex and brought situation under control. 

Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Acting Civil Surgeon rushed to the health complex and hold an emergency meeting with the doctors and local elites. He made a probe body headed by him will submit report within seven days. He gave an assurance to the agitated people to take departmental action against the accused doctors after probe. Then they left health complex premises along with body.
