A police constable of Pirtola camp was stabbed by miscreants

A police constable of Pirtola camp under Gangni upazila was stabbed by miscreants at around 8 pm tonight while he was checking a micro-bus.

The severely injured constable is Alauddin working at Pirtola police camp of Meherpur district. He was sent to Kushtia Medical College and Hospital in critical condition.

According to locals and police sources, a team of police led by ASI Subir Biswas, in-charge of Pirtola Police Camp under Gangni upazila was patrolling at Shahebnagar Taltola area of the upazila. During the time a white colored micro-bus was coming from frontier village

Kazipur and police halted the same. Constable Alauddin got into the microbus for checking, just then the driver left the spot with him. One miscreant in the guise of passenger stabbed him by sharp weapon. Later they threw him from the micro-bus near village Harabhanga Madrasa and left the place fast. Locals rescued him and sent to Kushtia Medical College and Hospital for advanced treatment.

Akram Hossain, Officer-in-charge said, the place of occurrence is bordering area. He suspected that the microbus was carrying contraband and in order to avoid arrest they committed such heinous offence. However, it could not be possible to hold the micro-bus or any delinquents till the time of posting this reports.

At last the severely wounded police constable succumbed to his injury at around 10 pm at Kushtia Medical College and Hospital on 24 July.
